Editor’s Note

This post was revised in view of a threat to sue from Mrs Anesia Baptiste.  She posted on Facebook as follows:

At 10:07am today 8th May, 2012, Vinci Kalaloo posted an article on my page “15 Little Known Facts About Anesia Baptiste”. It contained slanderous and Libelous information against my name and character and I have issued the following on Vinci   Kalaloo’s page at 10:31am:   “I have read this piece from Leslie Patterson published by you Vinci Kalaloo. You posted it on my page today Tuesday 8th May, 2…012 at 10:07am. Please note that information contained within points 5-15 is slanderous and libelous. I am giving you 3 days to remove this slanderous and libelous information, failing which you will hear from my legal representative. Get your facts straight before you publish such libelous drivel against my good name and character.
Mrs. Anesia Baptiste

Since the “facts” first stated cannot be verified, Ms Patterson was advised to ask these questions openly to Ms Baptiste. Rather than sue us, perhaps Ms Baptiste should answer the questions to comfort her growing number of supporters.

Vinci Kallaloo remains an ardent supporter of Ms Baptiste’s efforts at public service. However, we also provide a forum where ALL views are welcomed.

  1. You are a bunch of sickos. I don’t like the young lady’s behaviour either, but until she puts her name up to be a candidate, there is no reason for her to answer any questions. She probably has lots in her closet, and many of you are probably in the same boat. Don’t start throwing stones when you have glass windows.
Why not direct your questions to the politicians. They are the ones presently in your face. I’ll even add one question for all politicians to answer: Why did you run for elected office and how are you making life easier for the people you represent? This young lady holds no political office and never will. She has burnt all her bridges, so lay off and stop this nonsense.

If we cannot question Mrs. Baptiste how come she wants to stay in the Parliament to question the Govt? What am I hearing here with these people, Are these the same set of people we want to elect to send to Parliament to handle our affairs? If they cannot answer simple questions how are they going to handle more complex situtations? Is this insanity or what?

@ Nicole Quashie, What really is the issue Nicole?..tell us please. prior to the Thusian group coming on the scene there was no problem with any religion co-existing with each. Sure evryone is free to say what he wants about the other religion but we lived in peace. Then this thusian group come in and want to start a religios war in SVg…Tell them not in my peaceful country. Tell them take that religion that seems to want to divide our loving peope and go back to Trinidad, Mr Nyran Medina started this nonesence becaus he and the Hindus could not get along…Please tell him we have no such problems in St Vincent

I think when someone aspires to represent the people they put themselves in the public domain and certain issues associated with them have to be addressed especiallly when it pertains to “anti semitism” and “religious intolerance.” This person could potentially be involved in formulating and implementing public policy and their personal convictions would among other things influence what policies are formulated and how they are implemented. If dirt exists it may get dugged up. There needs to be transparency.

Black people must understand that when the American consitution was written black people were considered to be chattel property. So “we hold these truths to be self evident……” did not apply to us. If it was written today it would have continued “that all white men are created equal”. It was understood back then that they were not referring to people of African descent. The consitution had to be amended to give our brothers & sistas their god given right to freedom.

Any black person who is a champion of the US consitution must be confused. Go talk to the people whom they stole the land from – if you could find them as they have been literally exterminated.

Any black person who would oppose getting rid of the British monarch as the Queen of SVG is confused.

The French with all their talk of freedom, equality …. sent troops to restore slavery in Haiti.

Futhermore anyone who is obsess with any variation of Christianity is really confused.

CHRISTIANITY IN ANY FORM OR VARIATION IS THE RELIGION OF THE SLAVE MASTER. GAME – SET – MATCH.

Rather then confused I should probably say that person needs to get things into their proper perspective

Excellent point Bubbles…..Anesia is suppose to be good at doing research maybe she should have done some research before spirting out part of the American constitution. Because as your rightly said blacks were considered 5/8 of a man and nothing in the original constitution referred to a black person..I could shake your hand for bringing that to light Bubbles

I think the questions that Mr. Patterson posed to Mrs. Baptiste are pertinent and relevant to the current situation. It is extremely important to be able to get along with the person who give birth to you, the person whose face was the 1st you saw and might be the last. The person who cuddled you 1st, who breast fed you. If the answer to that question is yes then I have a problem with her being my representative.
If you had to leave churches because you could not get along with the members then I have a problem with you representing me.
If the answer to these questions are what I think they are then why must I believe what you are preaching is true?

@Nicole Quashie why is Vincy to the Bone dense to want answers to questions?…….You know this is the most amazing thing…..here we have a group who champions free speech and when a few harmless questions are posed they are offended, Nicole Quashie your response makes YOU look like the dunce. Questions are made to be asked, Even the seemingly dumb ones…if you guys cant walk the walk then stop talking the damn talk…, ……So encourage Anesia to answer the damn questions or shut the hell up with this fredom crap

Anesia Baptiste during the 2009 referandum I listened as you stated so many misleading statements about the proposed constittions. There were several radio programmes where poor, innocent people made statements ( because they did not know any better) and Anesia you listened and never once corrected them. You allowed ignornat people to say all manner of evil abuot the proposed constitution and about the Prime Minister. You need to drop to you knees and ask God for forgiveness, God does not sleep

It is a shame that Ms Patterson has to descend to such degree to misrepresent Anesia Baptiste, are you jealous of her? Is not Mrs. Baptiste free to self determination as an individual?

    • Karima, as a fellow Thusian can you encourage Anesai to answer the questions?

amen she is entitled to this and I don’t see why she has to answer any of these questions is just plain mischief, malicious mischief

  12. Posted by Sassy on May 8, 2012 at 5:11 pm

relax Nicole, it is all in the name of FREE SOPEECH…and remember TIRL is all about freedom of speech. Anesia likes to talk about the constitution of the USA. Well when one is about to represent the public in the USA they are subject to all kinds of scrutiny. remember what they did to Barack Obama when he was ruiinig in 2008. That talked about his association with Rev. wright etc…So if Mrs. Baptiste wants to run for public office we would all want to know who we would be voting for,…..does she have something to hide.?

You know I still cant believe that all this mess is as a result of a boss asking someone who is a prospective representative of the people to not say anything adverse to any religion in public?…No body aint stoping nobody from practing their reliigion….no body aint stopping nobody from believing what they want…no body aint stopping nobody from preacing what they want….no body aint stopping nobody from talking to their freinds about whatever religious group. All Arnhim was saying is : ” hear nah, we have all kinds of religious groups, ley we nah bother piss any of them off publicly nah,,mek me lef dem alone and mine we own religious business nah..”……that was all the man wanted….But this big mouth lady who dont know when to shut the hell up had to open she big mouth and oppose this common sense stance and landed herself on the bread line….how smart…….

Anesia loves to have press conferences lasting for hours to talk about how bad everybody else is. So maybe she should hold a press conference and answer these questions. I was not too sure about her but when she ( who is not a lawyer) claims to know more about the law then Parnel Campbel who has been practising law for 41 years, it became clear to me that the lady needs pyschiatrict treatment.. I hope she gets it…And why is her husband so quiet in all this melee…who wears the pants in that family. And Mrs Baptiste can you please tell us what if your church’s view on the rold of women in the church…Muhc thanks

Why does this person want to know Mrs Baptiste’s business? What relevance is her relationship with her mother to public office? What relevance is there in regards to the churches she once attended and the one she attends now,to public office? You Ms Patterson need to answer these questions.
