Did Arnhim Eustace “pocket” government money?

Arnhim Eustace, Leader of the Opposition in St. Vincent and the Grenadines has been accused of pocketing monies allocated by the Government to finance the operations of the Office of Leader of the Opposition. This accusation came from a poster on Facebook who goes by the name Caddy King. It came in response to a status update posted by prominent journalist Kenton X. Chance.

Chance posted a story on his I-Witness News page with the following opening lines:

PM Gonsalves says that opposition MP Nigel Stephenson skipped out the Office of the Leader of the Opposition when he detailed on radio last week the amount of money owed to telecommunication provider LIME by the various gov’t dept. Gonsalves said the Office of the Leader of the Opposition owed just over EC$1,133.08. LIME last week cut telephone services to ‘a significant’ number of gov’t dept. for non-payment of bills.

This evoked a number of responses in a thread that immediately followed. Among the responses a person  known as Caddy King charged that Eustace pocketed money assigned to his office. His comment is as follows:

Amory Lashley, A drop in the bucket eh? I guess all the other monies he received for a research officer and the like that he pocketed and all the other opposition members who owe the Government thousands all those are a drop in the bucket too eh? The Prime Minister has an entire country to run, so, don’t be so hypocritical! GIVE JACK HIS JACKET! WHY DON’T YOU. (our emphasis).

This indeed a serious charge against Mr Eustace. Does Mr King’s comment reflect the view held by the Government? Is Mr Eustace prepared to respond to this charge?
