Anesia what’s up with you and that bizarre “religion” and why are you annoying Vincentians with it? Do you think you are going to progress politically in a democratic country like ours with your controversial mess? If you want to perform social charity in the name of your religion..by all means do so..but I am very disturbed that you are using it as a political framework..Why are you trying to destroy the NDP with this crazy shit Anesia? Something is wrong with you…You will never become the Prime Minister of “MY” beautiful Country. Have you ever heard of the separation of church and state? Please do your charitable work in peace and stop with the voodoo excursions!

Persons fear what they do not understand. The Thusians according to my research is a branch of the SDA. Adventist women wear long skirts, refrain from jewelry etc, and so do they…

What seems to irk most however is the political intervention of the organization? Indeed, it is not a simple question of stating a position; there are press conferences, and reports with serious comparative epistemological heft.

The institute however has so far only restricted their political advocacy to issues relative to “rights and freedoms”. I cannot speak for the entity, nor will I defend them, I simply state the facts as I see them.

As for Misses Baptiste, I have never seen her promoting her religion in an official NDP platform (house, radio programs, what? Tell me?). Of the course, one can argue that being an NDP Senator spills over into her private religious activities. So everything Misses Baptiste does in her own private microcosm reflects the NDP? It is an interesting philosophical paradigm; must one sacrifice all that is dear to him upon entering the political forum?

This phenomenon stinks of politics, the Ralph Gonsalves admin is in office and would quite naturally target anyone critiquing them. Tell me one organization or entity that was criticizing the NDP that the ULP did not embrace. I see Ralph defending the institute if a Eustace administration was in operation.

Let me remind you that A. Baptiste was not handed the senate on a silver platter. She was extremely effective during the recent referendum and elections processes, in her own area of application.
The people, literally begged for her, no one wanted Linton or another old man, names such as Fredrick, Baptiste and Sylvester floated around. So clearly the senator represents the people’s choice (those among the 30,000 at least).

I ask myself why the uproar from the ULP, is it not due to the efficacy of the senator? From the budget to her more localized advocacy for basic justice, she has been highly effective. Do you think Hendricks Alexander, Saboto Ceaser and Sheon Marshall would project such vitriol at an ineffectual whelp? Henricks and Ceaser kept interrupting (laughable) seething venom as her words seem to burn their very souls, Marshall exposed his own partisan humanity with his hateful bit.

What is even more disconcerting is that her posture has been measured and moderate, expertly adopting the appropriate tone and style specific to the context.

@ Anesia.. Everybody deserves clean, running water but do you have any idea how unhealthy it is for them to remain residents there? I am sure lots of those folks will come down with diseases. I know pipes are there now but many of them will still bathe in the river ( which is heavily contaminated ) and the smell from that place is overwhelingly disturbing. You claim to want to assist these people which seems a pretty noble idea, but in their better interest you should have insisted that the government relocate them instead of making it more comfortable in an area that is full of health risks.

Well “Cess” in his dual capacity as minister of health, and representative of West St. George, intervened almost immediately following the expose.

He of course, as former head of AVESCO would be well familiar with the habitation, being just a few meters up the road from the clubhouse.

If Cess then in his infinite wisdom and deems it fit to provide clean drinkiung water to the Pole Yard residents, who am I to object?

Strange though, I have passed the area on numerous occasions, yet I have never encounbtered this infamous stench to which you allude. Additionally, they have been operating in the area for years, and I certainly have heard of nonoe “come down with diseases”…..

where our views converge however, is on the relocation issue. We have all seen the tragic reality of living alongside a River……

Ralph (perverted)twin brudda, tell James Mitchell that he is not going to sell out Vincentians, the way he sold the NDP short and appointed an OBVIOUSLY inefficient leader. Mitchell has done enough damage to Vincentians, he was insulted our intelligence and prostitute our best attributes to the highest investment bidder! The Comrade would not intimidate us with his display of kinky alliances with de facto leaders, maybe Eustace is too weak for him.. But he must walk the perfect democratic line with all the checks and balances or sufrey gwine erupt!

I meant(above) he “has” insulted our intelligence and prostituted our best attributes to the highest investment bidder, and the profits never trickled down to the poor.. When we dare raised our voices he called us “breadfruit mentality.” Son… yuh better keep on the left with yuh Antique friends, and repent of your sins for stopping up the hole of progress for the Opposition.
